Japanese Calligraphy & Origami Taster Day

This workshop combines the beautiful art of Japanese Calligraphy with another traditional art from – Origami, folding paper to create beautiful colourful images. Some simple origami and the crane (Symbol of Peace). Your calligraphy work can be decorated with origami.

You will not only learn brush techniques but also experience the whole process of the art and understand yourself through your work. You will use the traditional Japanese materials of a brush, ink and Japanese paper and be guided how to create your first brush strokes and how to build on these basic steps to create some lovely Japanese characters. Learn the foundations and begin the path to lifelong practice.
